LearnFromX ("the service") is a web application at learnfromx.com that generates Japanese vocabulary flashcards from anime subtitles. It uses spaced repetition to help you learn words from shows you watch.
You need an account to use the service. You can sign up with an email and password or via Google. You're responsible for keeping your credentials secure. One account per person.
You must be at least 16 years old to create an account.
The service offers a free tier with usage limits and a paid tier with expanded access. Pricing and limits are displayed in the app and may change. If you're on a paid plan, changes to pricing take effect at your next billing cycle, not retroactively.
Paid subscriptions can be cancelled at any time. Access continues until the end of the current billing period. Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis. Contact us if something went wrong.
Don't misuse the service. This includes:
Flashcard content (example sentences, explanations, translations) is generated by AI language models. While we aim for accuracy, generated content may contain errors. The service is a study aid, not a reference source.
Anime subtitles used for vocabulary extraction are sourced from third-party subtitle databases. We don't claim ownership of subtitle content.
Your study progress, word lists, and review history belong to you. You can request an export or deletion at any time.
We aim to keep the service running but don't guarantee uptime. The service may be temporarily unavailable for maintenance, updates, or reasons beyond our control. We'll try to give notice for planned downtime.
The service is provided "as is." To the maximum extent permitted by law, LearnFromX is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the service. Our total liability is limited to the amount you've paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or €50, whichever is greater.
You can delete your account at any time from the settings page. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, with notice where practical.
On deletion, your personal data is removed in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
We may update these terms. Material changes will be communicated via email or an in-app notice. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
These terms are governed by the laws of the European Union and, where applicable, the laws of France. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of competent jurisdiction in France.
