How it works

In Japanese, one word is often a whole sentence.

Tap a line to hear it.

So your first lessons are one word long.

Every lesson sentence has exactly one word you don't know.

Kanji

Kanji are the characters many Japanese words are written with. You learn what each one means and the parts it is made of.

Grammar

Grammar is taught the same way as words, one piece at a time. You see the piece highlighted inside a word you already know.

    Start from zero, or at a higher level. We skip the words you know.

  3. Study a few minutes a day.

    You get new words from your show's lines and review the ones you've learned.
